Last time I rang tech support was (I think) 1992. The person I spoke to acted like it was a favour to talk to me, never returned calls and generally didn't care. He also didn't solve my problem. I'm not saying this is typical, because I know quite a few of the local Informix people who are the exact opposite, care about their customers and do their best to help. So I don't ring tech support, I either use this n.g. or ring someone I know. I've done tech support and it's a thankless shit of a job, so let's not go overboard. Had a colleague, friend and top programmer bite my head off the other day because of another problem that had set her right on the edge. Glad it was me and not a client :). Peter Wiley
