Dropping bad DBSpace
Posted in 2003
First of all, I really screwed up and I know it. Second, my mistake
hasn't lost any data, so it really wasn't that bad.
What i did was accidentally assigned the same chunk of space to two
different instances. This chunk is the first chunk of a dbspace on
instance 1, and the rootdbs on instance 2. I have shutdown instance 2
and was able to remove all but the sysmaster db.
I still cannot remove the chunk/dbspace from instance 1 because of an
error:
Cannot drop the Space.
ISAM error: bad isam file format.
I assume this is because of the data on the chunk from instance 2.
So, how do I get this unusable chunk out of instance 1 so I can rebuild
instance 2?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
