Somebody Pls. Help Me !! SQL -212 and ISAM 28 Error.

Hi There .. I have a a table with 1.9 million records. When I try to alter on field which is in an unique index definition, the operation fails showing SQL -212 and ISAM 28 error. I have 2GB dbspace of which 1.2GB is free. And I have a temporary dbspace of 1GB. If I see the details of the above errors it says No disk space or something like that. Anybody there came across this probelm ?? Please help me. Thanks in advance.. Ajith Kumar

It looks like the Field is been used as an Primary-Key. So if there is another Table with an Foreign-Key that references this Field, in this Table must not be any Data with the Value of the "to be changed"-Field. If there are some references, you have to change this data first or you have to delete the foreign key, make your changes (in both tables) and create the key again. Good Luck

My two cents: 1. Do a dbschema - to get the structure of the table. 2. Then unload the whole table's data 3. Drop the old table and create the new one with altered structure and 4. load the data back into the table.
