Navdeep Virk installed Winsql with the Merant 3.60 32-bit Informix ODBC driver; the ilogin demo connected, but the ODBC setup test failed with system error 1157 (driver could not be loaded). Wolfgang Zager suggested using the ODBC driver shipped with Informix Client-SDK; another poster said to ensure the ODBC driver directory is in the PATH. Not confirmed solved.

Hi,
I have been trying to install Winsql.
I got the odbc driver from Merant and configured it . The ilogin demo
works that means it connects to the UNIX box showing contents of stores
database . But when i try and test conncet from ODBC Informix Driver
Setup , I recieve an error : specified driver could not be loaded due to
system error 1157 (Merant 3.60 32 bit Informix).I have gone thru
documentation on Indus-Soft.com website too but can't work this problem
out.
Any ideas, help will be greatly appreciated.

Why not using Informix Client-SDK? I've installed the
Intersolv-ODBC-Driver,
which is shipped with it, several times and it works fine.

Client-SDK can be free downloaded from www.intraware.com

Make sure that the directory where ODBC drivers are located is in the
PATH.
