listener-thread: err = -951

IDS 11.7FC8 HP-UX 11.31 We have set up a completely new server(hardware&OS) and installed IDS 11.7FC8. When the users try to log on we get the following error in the online.log: " listener-thread: err = -951: oserr = 0: errstr = user@server : Incorrect password or user "........" is not known on the database server. Can somebody please tel me how to fix this?

Isn't this a similar issue to another one discussed here recently? Informix is not being able to get the user information. Assuming your "oninit" is owned by root and setuid this should work. If the oninit doesn't have these permissions you must check the installation process: - Did you choose to do a non-root instalation? - Do the installation logs look ok. In particular the execution of the "brand" command? Naturally a PMR would help, but again if it's the same environment than you probably did that... Regards. Hi Guys, Thanks for the response. The HP Unix Engineers changed something on the security level which resolved the problem.
