RE: Doubt in configuring IDS for multiple network cards.

I suppose U have 2 network cards to try to do load balancing. If U can
determine at login time on what subnet U are, set INFORMIXSERVER to
online_tcp1 or 2. Make a alias DB Servername in onconfig.
If it is impossible to know what subnet a user is logged on, I have some
code that U can use to act as a gateway between second NIC and INF. I doubt
that this is your solution.
Rather get a GIGA NIC that can handle your load.
Onconfig file:
DBSERVERNAME online_tcp1
DBSERVERALIASES online_tcp2
Sqlhost file:
online_tcp1 onsoctcp 199.1.1.1 1524
online_tcp2 onsoctcp 199.1.1.200 1525

Subject: Doubt in configuring IDS for multiple network cards.
Hi people,
My server have to work in two different subnets, but with the same
dbservername, so I can?t do the bellow configuration (like manual says):
in $INFORMIXDIR/etc/sqlhosts
online_tcp1 onsoctcp hostname1 service1
online_tcp2 onsoctcp hostname2 service2
and it didn?t work if I put the same dbservername with two different
hostanames.
If somebody have one solution or idea ... Thanks !
Christian.
