Startup Script Failure on HP-UX 10.20

I created a startup script on HP-UX 10.20 to automatically start our Informix SE daemon. The problem is that whenever the machine is rebooted, the daemon starts and dies shortly thereafter with an error of -25553. I've checked my sqlhosts file and it has universal read permissions. If I start the daemon (logged in as root) from the command line, it starts fine. Why is this occuring? Has anyone experienced the same problem? If so, how was it solved?
