Hi, Is there a way of getting the row values from log files ? It would be very useful in order to auditing ... I enabled the AUDIT of IDS but it doesn't give rows values ... isn't it ? Manel Falcó
Not very easily. The information in the log files are normally 'reduced' to only show the differences between the before and the after image. So if you update a single column in a row, only that net change is entered. For instance if a CHAR(10) column located in byte 10 of a row contained "Text" and you changed it to "Test", then the logical log would contain somthing like <12:xs> indicating that byte 12 of the row changed an 'x' to an 's'. While this approch to logging is rather efficient and requires minimal storage, it is somewhat difficult to use by normal humans as an audit trail. ;-) "Manel Falcó i Aige" wrote: > Hi, > Is there a way of getting the row values from log files ?
