Long transaction aborts IDS 9.21 upgrade

I have been attempting to upgrade my development 7.30UC5 instance (on HP-UX 10.20 running Baan IV) to IDS2000 9.21 and have been getting foiled by long transactions where the server cannot roll back to recover the tranction it aborts. I would like to try this, but isn't the onbar restore from the 7.3 version going to be incompatible with the 9.2 install? Could I modify my database to "no logging" for the upgrade, and then restore it to a buffered log using ontape afterwards to avoid the long transaction problem? If the logs filling up are the issue ( I did try adding more logs as well- it still aborted), wouldn't logging being turned off solve the problem? Also, is it wise to set the LTXHWM lower than 50? Could this also alleviate the long transaction issue? Thanks for any help you can provide.
