This is a multi-part message in MIME format. --------------5647B34C1F3D50CC0C3FDD20 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=us-ascii Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Hi, I need help with a problem, I want the user to be shown in screen form without doing a select from a table .I require some way by which the form variable takes the value of the user for example f001= "user" etc. in the .per file. I have tried get_user(), fgl_getenv("LOGNAME") etc. but could not do it. I am sure there is an easy way of doing this. Thanks in Advance --------------5647B34C1F3D50CC0C3FDD20 Content-Type: text/x-vcard; charset=us-ascii; name="NVIRK.vcf" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Description: Card for Navdeep Singh Virk Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="NVIRK.vcf" begin:vcard n:Virk;Navdeep tel;home:(248)427-0785 tel;work:(734)524-5600 Extn. 6594 x-mozilla-html:FALSE adr:;;;;;; version:2.1 fn:Navdeep Virk end:vcard --------------5647B34C1F3D50CC0C3FDD20--

But you can either define a field or designate a part of the screen for displaying the user name and then try something like the following in 4GL. FUNCTION USR_NAME() DEFINE user_name CHAR(char_size) LET USER_NAME = fgl_getenv("LOGNAME") DISPLAY user_name AT row_position , column_position # if you have designated a space on the form DISPLAY TO user_name to user_field # if you have set a field on the form END FUNCTION You can then call this function at any time in your program to display the information on any screen you wish. -- Compliments of QueriX -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- QueriX 4GL Compilers are Informix 4GL Compatible.
