Some onconfig values get read on the fly - e.g if you change TAPEDEV, LTAPEDEV, the next operation that needs those values will get the latest from your onconfig. Bounce your instance to ensure that all onconfig parameters are re-read. Caution : Some parameters never change after disk initialization. e.g ROOTDBS, LOGSIZE .
