7.30UC3 Bug?
Posted in 1998
We installed 7.30UC3 in our development environment (in an effort to get
past an onbar bug in
the IDS 7.24UC2 version). We got past the onbar bug and now have
experienced some strange behavior in another area. The following situation
occurred twice within a few days of each other:
(1) delete of multiple rows
(2) indication that the delete was successful
(3) status shows no rows in the table
(4) a select of the rows (based on indexed columns) reveals the data
still exists and displays the data for these columns
(5) subsequent delete causes assert failed error message
We are running on a sun E3000 utilizing solaris 2.6.
We (three dba's) have never before witnessed data remaining in an index
after the data has been deleted from the table.
We have a tech support open case. We were told it is similiar to a bug
(78956) that was supposedly fixed in 7.3 IDS. We are hesitant to upgrade
our production environment to 7.3 until we know for sure this isn't a bug.
Tech support has asked that we recreate the bug. We have been able to only
once, but so far subsequent attempts to recreate the error have been
unsuccessful. Tech support is still evaluating our
.af diagnostics file.
Has anyone seen anything similiar to this? Appreciate any feedback that may
help us to figure this out.
Thanks.
