perl DBD-ODBC to Informix question

I'm using the perl DBD-ODBC module with Ke Jin's Unix iODBC, connecting to Informix IDS 7.30 on HP-UX 10.20 using OpenLink's driver . All is working well, but I would like to see the Informix error codes, and can't figure out how to do it As a example, if I prepare a simple select statement and misspell the table name, I would like to see the Informix error -206, so I could look up the error and figure out what's wrong. Instead, all I know is that the SQLPrepare failed and return -1. Is there a way to get the underlying database error code? Does anyone know?
