ROOTSIZE is set during initialization of the database server.
Just like any dbspace add another chunk to increase the size
of the dbspace. So if you want to increase the size of the
root dbspace, you just add another chunnk to the root
dbspace using onspaces.

Subject: increase ROOTSIZE
Hi,
I read "Informix Handbook" and "Informix Admin for IDS-9.20" but
could not find a way to increase rootdbs size. Could someone please
give a quick procedure to do it. I would like to increase ROOTSIZE
from 20000 to 30000 for both Online 5.x and IDS 9.2.
Thanks,
Thanh

Before you buy.
I thank for the responses but what do I need to do to
change the ROOTSIZE parameter in the onconfig file
after the engine has been initialized ?
