Enterprise Replication, hour syncronization

Hi all, I should implement an installation of Informix ER with 12 servers. I'm afraid of the right syncronization between all the 12 servers, 8 Linux SUSE, 4 Linux SUSE on VMWare and 4 Windows OS that accomodate the virtual machines. About the hour sync: how many seconds/minutes of hour difference are accepted from the replication? If one or more servers have different hours (in terms of some minutes...) the replication faults? Thank you, Francesco
afiacr max is 15 minutes. it should be doc'd somewhere if you have differences you may get problems with ts collision resolution. Madison can tell you better and more i guess. If the servers are more than 15 min apart, then the connection will fail. The time used is GMT based, so you don't have to worry about time zone issues. I'd suggest trying to keep the machine times fairly close together so that timestamp conflict resolution works correctly. <f.veroni@strhold.it> wrote in message news:1132303375.189283.202690@g14g2000cwa.googlegroups.com... > Hi all, > > I should implement an installation of Informix ER with 12 servers. > I'm afraid of the right syncronization between all the 12 servers, 8 > Linux SUSE, 4 Linux SUSE on VMWare and 4 Windows OS that accomodate the > virtual machines. > > About the hour sync: > how many seconds/minutes of hour difference are accepted from the > replication? > If one or more servers have different hours (in terms of some > minutes...) the replication faults? > > Thank you, > Francesco >
NTP (Network Time Proctol) is your friend!
