Informix Automatically Changes Link Types from Symbolic to Hard...

Greetings All.... I've discovered a interesting an annoying problem with Informix r4gl RDS compiler it converts files linked with symbolic links to files with hard links. Software: Unix SCO 3.2v4.2 INFORMIX RDS v4.10.UC4 ONLINE v5.00.UD5 eg. 1) Create a symbolic link to a file. ln -s ../../lib/4gl/globals.4gl globals.4gl 2) check link with. ls -l globals.4gl 3) Compile globals.4gl 4) check link again ls -l globals.4gl. Hey presto it's changed to a hard link !!!... Can anybody throw any light on why it does this ????
