Hi, Thanks everybody...my problem was that in the second instance I set up the tcp service in a wrong way, in the sqlhosts file. The new instance's just on-line !!! But I have a new doubt: can I set the services "sqlexec 1525/tcp" and "sqlexec2 1526/tcp" for the TCP connections ?? (I choose the name sqlexec2 and not sqlexec for the service to the snd. instance). Yes, you can do that. And the two servers must be listening on different port numbers -- they cannot both listen on the same port (thank goodness!). -- Yours, Jonathan Leffler (Jonathan.Leffler@Informix.com) #include <disclaimer.h> Guardian of DBD::Informix v1.00.PC1 -- http://www.perl.com/CPAN "I don't suffer from insanity; I enjoy every minute of it!"
