That news group isn't part of the standard usenet news groups, but rather one you can only access via Informix's own news server. You can find that by going to http://www.informix.com/idn and go to the Linux part. However if you are behind a firewall like me it's unlikely you can access that news group because few firewalls will lett news through to you. Hopefully Informix will set up a web interface to the news group so you can use it via a standard web browser. That's easy enough for them to do. Please send a suggestion via their feedback mail adress at the IDN site if you have this problem. As to the ODBC problem I would suggest using another ODBC driver as the one from Informix isn't exactly known to be the best arround :-) Check the FAQ for alternatives.
