Isn't a uninitialised var in 4gl = to NULL. ?
A bit off the subject, but might be related
In a Informix SE raw file a small int
0 means value of zero
-32768 means NULL.
In ESQLC
short i16 = 0;
i16 = ldint((*src));
if (risnull(CSHORTTYPE, &i16)) printf("NULL")
else printf("%d", i16);

Subject: Informix 4GL SMALLINT variables
Hi, can anyone confirm that SMALLINT variables,
if uninitialised, take on the value of 0 (zero).
And whether this is the case on all platforms and flavours of UNIX.
