reconnect RSS after network outage

Hello
I have just setup an IDS11.70 cluster with one primary server and one HDR
secondary plus one RSS secondary.
I had a network outage between the production site and the backup site, it
caused the RSS synchronization to stop because the timeout set in
"IFX_SMX_TIMEOUT" was reached, and I wanted to resume the synchronization
after the network was recovered.
I tried to execute "onmode -d RSS ol_pri" from the RSS secondary server but it
did nothing, it only worked after I had performed a restart of the RSS
instance.
So is it normal that I have to restart the instance or is there a standard way
to proceed for resuming the RSS synchronization ?
Thanks
Fabrice
Not normal, no. I would have tried running the "onmode -d add RSS ol_rss"
on the primary if the command on the secondary alone didn't work.

Hi, You didn't say what version of 11.70 you're running but there are certainly a few defects in early fix packs. Does your version include this fix? IC89665: RSS NODE CAN FAIL TO RECONNECT http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?crawler=1&uid=swg1IC89665 There are also a defect you can encounter with similar symptoms if you use delayed apply although an assertion failure makes it more obvious you've encountered a defect: IC93948: ASSERT FAILED: INVALID MUTEX TYPE POSSIBLE DURING RSS RECONNECTION ATTEMPT WHEN DELAY_APPLY IS USED http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?crawler=1&uid=swg1IC93948 IC89665 is fixed in 11.70.FC7W1 and above. IC93948 is fixed in 11.70.FC7W3 and above. Ben.
