4go/4gi format ?

Hi all! I'm looking for info on the format of .4go files, in paticular being able to find defined and undefined symbols in the files. Specifically, I would like to build an intelligent linker to create .4gi files from libraries of .4go files, that same way that the 'ld' linker allows archive libraries to be used. The reason for this is that we have an application suite with a LARGE number of modules, and it's a pain in the butt trying to keep track of which modules need to be concatenated together to produce the .4gi's so that we have a functioning program without linking in unneccesary modules. Even better, does anyone have such a linker already ? IMHO, it's very slack of Informix not to supply such a thing with the RDS development environment - just goes to show they're not serious about large application development and multi-platform deployment. Anyone at Informix care to reply ? Cheers. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Li-Chuan Dunlop, s925095@minyos.xx.rmit.edu.au ----------------------------------------------------------------------------
