Informix-SQL and Informix-SE do not allow you to embed SQL commands in your C code. As you had mentioned before, you need Informix-ESQL/C to do that. If you need the power of 4GL, you will need to purchase that seperately. Remember, you can do a lot with ISQL though... Domino's Pizza has a 300+ program system and only about a dozen programs are written in 4GL. Also, if you do buy I4GL, you don't need to buy ESQL/C (I4GL has ESQL/C built in). DAS -- David A.
