Where can I find information on how to set up Enterprise Replication on IDS 2000 with the command line tools. I have tried to piece it together with the info in the back of the Guide to Informix Enterprise Replication but have had no luck. I have 2 systems and I would like to set it up for update anywhere. Please respond via email. bsapot@yahoo.com Bryan __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Yahoo! Mail ' Free email you can access from anywhere! http://mail.yahoo.com/
First a couple of things to check... 1) Make sure that your sqlhosts file has a group entry to identify the ER entity. It needs the 'i=' option. The server entries should point to the appropriate group via the 'g=' entry. 2) Define the servers. Start with one and then add the others by syncing to that one. 3) Always use the 'group name', not the server name. SQLHOSTS example.. cdr1_g group - - i=1 cdr1 ontlitcp calculus mpruet.cdr1 g=cdr1_g cdr2_g group - - i=2 cdr2 ontlitcp calculus mpruet.cdr2 g=cdr2_g 4) Define the servers.... cdr define server -c cdr1_g -I cdr1_g cdr define server -c cdr2_g -I -S cdr1_g cdr2_g 5) Define the replicates... cdr define repl -c cdr1_g -C timestamp -S row repl1 \\ "cmpdb@cdr1_g:informix.tab1" "select * from tab1" \\ "cmpdb@cdr2_g:informix.tab1" "select * from tab2" 6) Start the replicates... cdr start repl -c cdr1_g repl1 Bryan Sapot wrote: > Where can I find information on how to set up > Enterprise Replication on IDS 2000 with the command > line tools.
