level1 archive on 7.3 and temp dbspace

i am running ver 7.3 of informix and it has a problem when doing a level 1 archive for some reason which i do not know it conflicts with the temp dbspace so to get around it i wrote a script that drops the temp dbspace, do the level 1 achive and then recreate it using onspaces, now my problem comes when the dbspace has data, coz you cant drop it if it has contents rather you will need to take online offline and then online again. What do you mean it has a conflict with the tempdb space? Art S.
