Hi,
How do you connect to database server? Try
dbaccess -> Connection -> Connect -> select server name ->
enter informix/informixpassword.
Does it connect?
In fact, in my understanding it shouldn't have anything with
system tables, since database server uses operation system
authentication.
Some stupid questions:
1. Are you sure you are connecting to the right database
server on the right unix server (it is the most stupid question,
but it could be the answer to the problem).
2. Check the informix server log. It should contain lines
with something like:
13:25:37 listener-thread: err = -952: oserr = 0: errstr = : User's password isnot correct for the database server.
Are there these lines (or may be other lines that can enlighten
the situatuion)?
Best Regards,
Octav

Hello Octav,
today i took a complete backup with dbexport. After this i install
the new 7.31 IDS engine in the same directory as the old 7.30. After
the installation i started the engine. I can login as informix into
the database and all looks very fine.
My problem is, that i don't know what happened.

The online.log line:
951: Incorrect password or user informix is not known on the database server.
