Hi,
I'am currently importing a database using dbimport command. It takes a while,
the job is running for 2 days now.
It is loading the same table for many hours now (I see it when I run onstat -g
ses SESSIONID). However, I cannot see what values are currently being inserted
into the table.
Is there a way to connect to the database and check how many rows have been
loaded in that table so far?
When I try to connect to the database using dbaccess command, I get the
following error message:
425: Database is currently opened by another user.
107: ISAM error: record is locked.
Thanks
Finding the individual table can be a challenge, but onstat -t shows the
accurate number of rows for all open tables ( and the one you are inserting
into will be there. do and onstat -t every couple of seconds an see which
table is picking up rows.
Once you have identified the tblnum you can get creative on what you want
to see.
George.

Run onstat -t and you will see table or fragment's nrows
and npages increasing. This will be the currently loading
table. This should provide you with the information you
desire. Do not forget there are alot more action besides
loading done by dbimport.
Just a few hints.
1. dbimport creates indexes and update stats so setting PDQPRIORITY up
2. Increase the amount of DS memory you have to speed up the sorting
operations
3. set the environment variable FET_BUF_SIZE to 32700 to increase
the insert cursors buffer size

Connect to the server without opening a database, SET ISOLATION DIRTY READ;,
then try to open the database.
