I just installed IDS 7.30 and works fine.
After i reboot the system (Linux RedHat 6.2) when i
tried to start IDS using oninit command, i got the message:
Cannot find message file. Check INFORMIXDIR and DBLANG.
What this mean? How can start de engine?
Thanks.

If you have installed more than one product of Informix (e.g IDS &
ESQLC), you may have installed them in the incorrect order. There is
some confusion about what is to be installed first - in versions before
7.3, one used to follow the run of TEN (Tools followed by Engine
followed by Network products?); in the v7.3 installation guide, Informix
does mention that the order of installation is irrelevant.
All the same, I believe that the correct order is to install the oldest
software (age being defined by version #) first.
In your case, try re-installing just the Server product (IDS 7.30)
again.
