Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Joseph Dixon asked what path to use for SQLEXEC for old i4gl and isql with an IDS 9.3 engine. John Carlson suggested the bin directory and John Fahey said lib/sqlrm on 9.21. Jonathan Leffler said there is none: sqlrm is not shipped with IDS 9.x, so he recommended upgrading to newer i4gl and isql (7.32).

I am trying to set the environment variable for SQLEXEC for an old
informix program "i4gl" and "isql".
The SQLEXEC environment variable needs to know the path name of the informix
9.3 engine

There isn't one. You need to upgrade to new i4gl and isql (7.32
recommended).
If you had a 7.x server, there would have been a relay module, sqlrm, which
you could have used. That is not distributed with IDS 9.x.
