Stored Procedures and RAISE exception
Posted in 1995
Hi There, I currently have a application that calls couple of stored procedures. Stores procedure A calls procedure B. I want to be able to trace any errors in any of the procedures. If procedure B encounters some error I want it to return the error number to procedure A and at the same time returns sends the error number to the front end. A portion of the code is as follows: on exception set errno, isamno, errstr return errno, isamno, errstr raise exception errno, isamno, errstr end exception The problem I have now is that procedure A gets the errno but the front-end don't; 'cause sqlca.errno[1] is 0. I can possibly use return errno for all the procedures and takes the raise exception statement out; but it this case I would have to check each errno returned and do the appropriate action. Have anyone done similar thing. Hope to hear from you! Regards, - Ken Chow kcchow@technet.sg
