Where to start

Hi everyone: I'm a unix specialist in a large east coast law firm here in the US. We are purchasing a financial package from Elite Data Processing which runs on informix (probably 6.0 by the time we get it). I have no experience with informix (just a little with C-ISAM) and I would like suggestions on how to get started on the road to learning informix. I assume that I will be sent to class, but would like to get a head start. I've started reading this newsgroup. Are there any good books or newsletters I should start looking at?
