Difference between Enterprise Replication and HDR

Hi can any one you, please tell me what is the difference between Enterprise Replication and High Availability replication. I have worked extensively with HDR, but i dont know what is ER. Can I get the information on ER and how it works and what are the requirements and specifiaction for starting an ER. How better it is to have ER than HDR. With ER you can replicate almost any that you can write a SQL statement for. Individual tables can be replicated, parts of tables, etc. Target databases can get different data based on the where clauses from the master. For example distributing data based on region. You can actively update both sides of the replication (obviously that's a little more tricky and takes careful planning). You don't need to restore the target database to start replication, or if something happens. You have the option to sync it yourself and start up replication. You can replicate cross versions (although not always stable). The instances don't need to be exactly the same. There is a whole manual on enterprise replication. Scott M.
