Our company with a computer systems environment of Sun and Iris workstations, PCs, Macs, Celerities, Cray, Apollo and DECStations (to give you a picture of heterogeneity) is planning to install a good database system, to be accessible from all or most of the above mentioned platforms. The purposes include customer tracking, billing/invoicing, Quotations, employee records, monthly billing by managers, monthly reports, etc. We are going to evaluate Progress and Informix very soon. However, I need suggestions from experts out there, with knowledge of application building, etc. What package(s) will be suitable for our TCP/IP environment? Are there any public domain packages or applications? What user interfaces are available? If you can, please e-mail me at upkar@trace.eng.wayne.edu Thanks in advance. Upkar Kohli
