create a table e.g. file_exists (status integer); Then create a shell script. e.g. file_exists.sh This file would have statement like this if [ -f 'c:\\temp\\ho.txt' ] then echo "insert into file_exists values(1)"|dbaccess dbname; eles echo "insert into file_exists values(0)"|dbaccess dbname; If this is a multi-user system then you have to generate either table or have an extra field in this table which could differentiate users.
