Hi, You're right static is the default (at least up until version 7.2) All you have to do is specify -dynamic on the command line of the esql command. The libaries are contained in $INFORMIXDIR/lib/esql. Below is an ls output from this directory on our system. The shared libs have a shr contained in the names.
