David Doesn't anything sent to a /dev/null go down a black hole anyway? You should not have to copy to /u/stuff/stuff.log. Its gone anyway. I am supporting a product using Informix-SE version 5.06.UC1 running on SCO Unix. The logging is enabled and it is getting in the way. We don't need any logging but I don't want to have to recreate the database without logging. My question is this, is it safe to copy /dev/null to the logging file in order to clear it out on a periodic basis? Example: "cp /dev/null /u/stuff/stuff.log". I would prefer an email to me at dbarnish@onel.com, but I'll check this group as well.
