I'm have a Win98 2nd edition PC installed with SDK 2.4. When attemping to run setnet32 the 'Server Information' tab, I get the message - could not open the registry. I have reinstalled the SDK and rebooted the PC but cannot get past this. I have many other PC's running this stuff without a problem. I noticed that Informix ODBC was missing from the Software, ODBC, ODBC.INI in the registry. I exported this from another PC and imported it but it still gets the same error. Thanks Gary Quiring
I would guess you have a windows registry problem. I believe that Microsoft has a regfix utility that would fix this. Another thing you might try is in Win98, under programs, accessories, system tools, there should be an entry called system file checker, or something like that. Try running that and see what happens. This solution was provided from Shannon Sellers and it works perfectly: Bring up setnet32, change the SQLHOSTS value to blank on the environment tab. Then apply the change and you should be able to open the host tab and make your changes. (you may have to close setnet2 and restart it). Gary Q
