I guess I deserved that from "Obnoxio the clown". But in my defense, I am
just an intern, who is a sophmore in
college and started working on informix 5 weeks ago. Can someone please
tell me how to restore the data?
Thanks,
Raj

A poor workman always blames his tools. Judging by your onconfig, your
backups are probably also worth a hat full of dandruff.

You cannot. If you had weeks and a thorough knowledge of Informix's
disk data structures it is remotely possible. In general the rule is
if you accidentally init the disks, restore from archive. However,
since you are not taking any archives, or at least are writing them
to the bit bucket, you are hosed big time. Did you by any
happenstance export your database design (see dbschema or myschema)
or did you use a third party design tool to develop the schema in
the first place? If so you can recreate the database structure.
Then if you have the original data reload it. Beyond that? Slink
away quietly into the night and never look back. Take this as a life
lesson.
