You can fetch it directly into a long long by preparing and describing the statement then edit the sqlda structure sqlvar record for the INT8/SERIAL8 column(s) and set the length to 8 the type to CINT8TYPE and set the sqldata pointer to the address of your long long. Hello, My environment is Solaris2.6 and IDS9.2, and I use C++, ESQL/C9.20 and Rogue wave DBTools++ to do development. I have to introduce INT8 and SERIAL8 columns into some tables. Our C++ complier supports 8 bytes integer. But its type is "long long", not "long"., the size of gboth "int" and "long" type in our complier is 4 byte. Informix ESQL/C library provides function to convert INT8 type to C int / long. Is there a way to convert it to a C "long long" type ? Thanks. Harry
