Do we know anything about the licensing of the "innovator-c" server ? For example - I'd love to be able to create a "bundle" with that (which includes the ClientSDK) - and Aubit4GL to give a complete "free" (as in beer) environment.. Maybe even a VM etc. (Obviously - anyone wanting "free as in speech" would still need an opensource DB -I'd just love to see IBM opensource Informix SE :-) One of the key things now, if they want to move this forward, is to ensure Informix can be run with things like PHP (which last time I looked didn't work - even following IBMs instructions, with recent versions...) Maybe even a VM etc. I think that you can't do this: that is, it's free to end users but Distributors need a distribution agreement, and this will not necessarily be free. I can put you in touch with the right people to negotiate with in the UK if you like?
If you wouldn't mind - that'd be great... I think a development VM (for example) would be a good idea - not limited to Aubit4GL - but include PHP and any other tools others might be interested in dropping onto it...
