Spent the last 14 years "perfecting" their practices. FWIW, one of my databases (on a Sun SPARC) has had 2 days downtime since March 1993 and it's used 6 days/week, 10 hours/day. Informix SE. I'm finally thinking of upgrading to a new box, Solaris 2.5.1 and a new Informix port. This is not uncommon performance. Peter Wiley
