RE: ove* files that fill /tmp completely.
Posted in 1997
If you set the DBSPACETEMP with sufficient space (In the form of
temporary dbspaces) to hold your
temporary tables or any other temporary operation, Informix will
not have to write to the /tmp directory, there is also another
environment variable PSORT_DBTEMP (check to see if the name is the
correct).

Subject: ove* files that fill /tmp completely.
Hi Folks
Has anyone had any experience with the /tmp
directory being flooded by multiple files from
informix called ove* (in my case
ove0047095_001 to ove0047095_011).
These may be related to ontape backups, or to
hash-joins carried out by queries.
The environment is 7.12 Sparc 1000E, Sol 2.4.
The benefit of anyones experience would be
most appreicated, (and I will summarize to the
list.)
TIA
