I can't remember whether I mentioned SQLCMD in this context -- if I did, I apologize for repeating myself. SQLCMD, available from the IIUG web site, has a fixed output format which always adds trailing blanks. On CHAR and NCHAR columns; on VARCHAR and NVARCHAR columns, the trailing blanks are significant, of course.
