Inexplicable -710 error with RS6000, OnLine 5.05, 4GL 4.14
Posted in 1997
Greetings, all. We have a site using an IBM RS6000 and OnLine vers. 5.05 and 4GL vers. 4.14. A FEW of our programs are OCCASIONALLY getting error # -710: -710 Table table-name has been dropped, altered, or renamed. After a statement has been prepared in the database server and before the user executes it, the table has been renamed or altered, possibly changing the structure of the table. Problems may occur as a result. -------------- In once case, the error is occuring on an open cursor statement that accesses 3 tables using 2 variables; the structure of the tables haven't changed for years. LET q_txt = "SELECT mu_struct_04.menu_code, mu_info_01.menu_title,", " mu_info_01.prog_id, mu_struct_04.ord ", "FROM mu_struct_04, mu_info_01, mu_class_03 ", "WHERE mu_struct_04._menu = ? AND", " mu_class_03.menu_class = ? AND", " mu_struct_04.menu_code = mu_class_03.menu_code AND", " mu_info_01.menu_code = mu_class_03.menu_code ", "ORDER BY mu_struct_04.ord" PREPARE q_stmt FROM q_txt DECLARE menu_cur CURSOR FOR q_stmt ... OPEN menu_cur USING accs_arr1[arr_cur1].menu_code, menu_class In another instance, the error occurs on an update statment, again no change to the table's stucture in years: UPDATE wo_estc_151 SET ba_id = t_ba_id, ba_nbr = t_budget_nbr WHERE wo_estc_151.cnt_nbr = gv_cnt_nbr AND wo_estc_151.proj_nbr = w_rec.proj_nbr AND wo_estc_151.work_order_nbr = w_rec.work_order_nbr Anyone encounter this before? -- _____________________________________________________________________ | Colin McGrath cmm@trac3000.ueci.com | | Raytheon Engineers & Constructors, Inc.
