Your comments about NFS mounted chunks is nonsequitor since Informix will
not work with NFS mounted chunks on ANY system. Indeed onspaces checks to
determine if the chunk being added is on an NFS device and will refuse to
use it. Ideally Informix wants RAW devices and apparently these are
becoming a supported feature of newer Linux kernels and can be patched
into most 2.2.x kernels.
