Re: raw device in SCO

1) You can use an fdisk partition or a divvy division withot a file system on it. 2) Once you have de partition (example: /dev/rhd03) or the division (example: /dev/rmyrawdiv) you can use it. But pay attention to the first "r" of the /dev name that indicates raw partition or raw division. In divvy, the name of the division was "myrawdiv" and the system creates "rmyrawdiv". 3) Its not necesary but I recommend that you create a link or symlink to the raw device. for example ln /dev/mychunk /dev/rhd03 3) Then you must assign the ownership to informix and the protection to 660 chown informix:informix /dev/mychunk chmod 660 /dev/mychunk 4) Proceed as usual with onmonitor for chunk/dbspace addition.
