I'm having some performance problems using the following: - IBM F50 4 cpu 512 Mb, disk array 1 around 48/24 Gb - Informix IDS 7.30.UC6, RDS 7.20.UD6 Can you help me if you had found some problems using it, including onconfig parameters? Some sugestions for upgrade? thanks Henrique Lima - Sao Paulo - BR - henriquelima@uol.com.br Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.
Post the config files and 512MB is small RAM for 4cpu . -- --------------------------------------------------------- Steven Hauser email: hause011@tc.umn.edu URL: http://www.tc.umn.edu/~hause011 ---------------------------------------------------------

If your system can stop, you can unload, drop table, redefine the extent size for the table, recreate table and reload. If your system can't stop you must alter table and change next extent size for the table. Sent via Deja.com http://www.deja.com/ Before you buy.

You can check the extent of tables, if a table has more than 7 extent,
performance in read/write result very afectted. for check tables with
more than 7 extent:
{dbsname must be changed with the real database name}
{conectted to databese sysmaster}
select tabname , count(*) Fragments, sum(size) Size
from sysextents
where dbsname = 'dbsname'
group by tabname
having count(*) > 7
order by 2 DESC, 1
Also you can check if your system is doing memory swap, in this case
your memory is short or you must configure the size of buffer cache
