My apologies, I responded direct to Dirk and not the group. Dirk asks ... Are triggers on system tables allowed ? All I can say is - try it - I can't se why not. -----Original Message----- From: Dirk Moolman [mailto:dirkm@reach.co.za] Sent: 24 November 2000 11:14 To: Robert Stuart Subject: RE: How to know which databases and tables created/deleted yesterday? This is true, I wouldn't like to track temp tables. I've tried running smi-queries on them, and this can be quite a challenge if you don't know how to identify them. Creation is easy ... if the table survives long enough to read it the next day. I'm not sure you can track TEMP tables without inspecting your log files (and then only if they were logged!!) For longer lived tables, try setting up a trigger on systables to populate a tables_log table. -----Original Message----- From: Dirk Moolman [mailto:dirkm@reach.co.za] Sent: 24 November 2000 06:32 To: informix-list Subject: FW: How to know which databases and tables created/deleted yesterday? Creation is easy. sysmaster:sysdatabases has a column that tells you when the database was created db:systables has a column that tells you when the table was created. Don't know about the deletion though. Hi all, I would like to have a daily report of the list of datatabases and tables were created or deleted yesterday. Is it possible to do that with IDS2000? Can I use Unix Shell script to query it and run it everynight automatically with Unix cron deamon? Thanks in advance for any advise. DH.
