Your boss is wrong when he says Informix can not be run on a Pentium-based computer, but he is right in preferring "something like a Sun box" instead. HP, IBM and Sun make boxes that scale way past Intel boxes. The Pentium box could run Linux, NT, Solaris for Intel, SCO or UnixWare, if you go that way. >From: "Obnoxio The Clown" <obnoxio@hotmail.com> > > > From: "Jerry Chimutanda" <jerry@compcentre.uz.ac.zw> > > > > > >We are considering switching from Access to Infomix, and my boss thinks > > >Informix can not be run on a pentium based computer, preferring >someting > > >like a SUN box instead. > > > > > >Could I be enlightened here? > > > > Your boss is both right and wrong, grasshopper. > > ________________________________________________________________________ > > Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com > > > ________________________________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free E-mail from MSN Hotmail at http://www.hotmail.com
