With all due respect max. no. of chunks per server is 2048. In 7.xx/8.xx/9.xx it is not a problem at all since these support 1024 chunks per server, but OL5.xx only has one disk page for the chunks table which holds a maximum of 64 chunks if their paths are 3 characters or less (imagine /aa /ab /ac /ad ... /da ...) and about 55 chunks if their paths are less than 7 characters (I use /i/ix01, /i/ix02 ....). Actually those counts are 1 too high since a bug in tbspaces and tbmonitor will not let you add a chunk if there are not 65 bytes free for the next entry even though entries for pathnames that small are about 56-60 bytes. Since it is impractical to actually achieve 64 chunks you have to settle for a max of 54 chunks if you are VERY careful naming them for a total of 108GB per server. Art S. Kagel
