Translating with DrWatson… this can take a few seconds the first time.
This is a genuine, complex translation. DrWatson protects commands, error codes, and log output while naturally translating the surrounding text. It’s translated once and saved.
Question: how to make dbimport load a database into a different dbspace. Answer: use dbimport -d <dbspace> (visible via dbimport -? help), which places the database catalog/tables there. Caveat noted: if the exported CREATE TABLE/INDEX statements contain explicit "in <dbspace>" clauses, those objects still go to the named dbspace, so you can edit the SQL file in the yourdb.exp directory to change or add the desired dbspace before importing. One reply also urged the poster to consult the manuals/help first.

Tell us Operational System, version ...
IDS version...
Well .... if you type:
dbimport ---
you'll see the 'help' of the command...
You can see ' -d dbspace ' to redirect the catalog of that database to
specific database.
BUT , if you have a create table (col1, col2.... coln) in DBSPACE, the table
(and indexes) will reside in that dbspace.
IF "in dbspace" is not mentioned in create table statement, the table will be
created in the same dbspace as the database.
If the statement "create <unique> | <cluster> index .... on .. table ... in
dbspace, the index will use pages in the "dbspace" specified (detached
indexes) ... if not, the indexes will be in the same dbspace as the table or
sure, the same as the database if not specified in create table.

You really do need to either start reading some manuals or get some
training, the vast majority of the questions you have posted over the
past two or three weeks could have been answered by reading the
manuals, by googleing existng answers on c.d.i. use list or (as in
this case) by typing -? as a paramenter and getting the program help
line :-
Usage:
dbimport <database> [-X] [-c] [-q] [-d <dbspace>]
[-l [{ buffered | <log-file> }] [-ansi]]
[{ -i <dir> | -t <tapedev> [ -b <blksz> -s <tapesz> ] [-f <script-file>] }]
NOTE: <log-file> must be a complete path
arguments to dbimport are order independent
People will start to get upset if you prevail on their good auspices
too much (especially with an ID version that is so so old and
unsupported !!).

Hi,
You can edit the SQL file inside the yourdb.exp directory. You can add "in
dbspacename", there dbspacename, is your preferred dbspace your table will be
written. Once done, you can do the dbimport, check the parameters posted
earlier.
Thank you.
